Thank you for your interest in serving as a mentor for the Summer Jobs Program (SJP)!

We appreciate your investment in helping develop the next generation of local employees!

Thank you for your interest in being a Summer Jobs Program mentor.

Please complete an application:

  • Mentors will be positive and professional role models, help students reflect on their work experience, and support students as they explore future school and work options

  • SJP mentors are not the student's supervisor; mentors support the student and the work-based learning experience

  • Mentors will meet with students at least 5 times during the summer (early June to mid-August)

  • Mentors must be at least 21 years old and pass a background check

  • A mentor orientation will be held in May, lasting 1-1.5 hours

The Summer Jobs Program Mentor Handbook outlines expectations and includes ideas for weekly conversations.
